Wellington International Airport (WLG) - Guide to Wellington (WLG) Airport

Wellington sits at the convergence of State Highways 1 and 2, which join to become the Wellington Urban Motorway. Hiring a private car is an inexpensive and efficient way to travel the city and surrounding areas.

Wellington's main rail station is located on Bunny street in the Lambton Quay area and features a large travel centre where you can book bus, rail and ferry tickets to further explore New Zealand's North Island. Within the city itself there are several bus services available, with the City Circular Bus making a loop of the city centre every 10 minutes. STARpass tickets are excellent value, allowing you to travel all day for one fare.

Wellington International Airport is one of the most important airports in New Zealand, offering highly modern and efficient services. Located some 5 miles / 8 km southeast of the city, it is easily accessible by car and receives daily flights from all over the world.
